Westerly winds are anticipated to reach the northern parts of Pakistan by tomorrow evening, bringing a new wave of rain and snowfall to various regions across the country.
The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for rain and thunderstorms, mainly in the northern and central areas. Light rain is expected in parts of Punjab from November 14 to 15, which may help reduce smog levels in the province.
Regions like Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Battagram, and neighboring areas, as well as parts of upper Hazara such as Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Haripur, are forecasted to receive rain starting tomorrow evening. Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also expected to see rain, with snowfall likely in the higher elevations.
In addition, light to moderate rain is predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and nearby areas including Attock, Talagang, Chakwal, and Jhelum. Rainfall is also expected in cities like Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Khushab, and Sargodha. This rainfall may lead to dense fog in the plains of Punjab.
In Balochistan, southern areas like Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, and Musakhel are also likely to experience rain, while thunderstorms are anticipated in Bhakkar, Layyah, and Dera Ghazi Khan in southern Punjab.
The wet weather is expected to last from tomorrow evening until the morning of November 16.
