Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday commended Pakistan’s security forces for their successful operation in Spinwam, North Waziristan, which resulted in the killing of four terrorists linked to the Fitna al-Khawarij group. Two other militants were injured and arrested during the operation.

In a statement, the PM stated his pride in the bravery of the security forces, emphasizing their role in struggling terrorism in the region. “The entire nation is proud of the courageous soldiers who successfully neutralized the terrorists,” he said.

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to destroying terrorism, stating, “We will continue to fight against the specter of terrorism until its complete eradication from the country.”

He also vowed to persist in undoing the dangerous activities of Fitna al-Khawarij, a group believed to be behind multiple terrorist attacks in the region.

PM Shehbaz leaves for Saudi Arabia to attend Arab-Islamic Summit

PM Shehbaz also left for Saudi Arabia on Sunday to attend the Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, where key discussions on the situation in the Middle East, including Gaza and Palestine, are expected to take centre stage from Monday.

The summit, organized by Saudi Arabia, aims to address the rising crisis in Gaza and other pressing issues affecting the region. Heads of state and government from member countries of the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are gathering for the important forum.

During his visit, the PM is expected to address the summit and hold bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines, further strengthening Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement in the region. Accompanying him are Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
