
Cold and dry weather predicted in most parts of country
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted predominantly cold and dry weather across most regions of the country over the next 24 hours, with extremely cold conditions in hilly areas during the morning and night.
However, light rain, wind, and thunderstorms—along with light snowfall over hills—are expected at isolated locations in Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the synoptic analysis, continental air continues to dominate most parts of the country, while a shallow westerly wave is impacting the northern regions.
In the past 24 hours, cold and dry conditions prevailed across most areas, with hilly regions experiencing particularly frigid temperatures.
Rain and snowfall were recorded in isolated spots, including Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas.
Leh was the coldest location in the country on Wednesday, with temperatures dropping to -8 degrees Celsius.
