The recent heat spell in Karachi has eased with the partial return of the sea breeze, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Thursday.

The weather department says the breeze in Karachi should return by the evening, which will help bring down the temperature. On Thursday, the city’s high is expected to stay around 38°C.

Humidity was at 74% on Thursday morning, and light winds were blowing from the southwest at about 10 km/h.

Even though the weather is improving, Karachi’s air quality is still unhealthy. The Air Quality Index was at 115, showing that pollution levels remain high.

In other parts of Pakistan, most areas will stay hot and dry over the next 12 hours. However, some parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir might see light rain or thunderstorms.
