On Wednesday, May 1, Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province, in observance of International Labour Day.

According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, all government and semi-government institutions will remain closed on the day.

A notification has confirmed that all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, will remain closed for the holiday.

Labour Day is celebrated around the world on May 1 to honor workers and their contributions. The day is meant to raise awareness about the need to protect workers’ rights and to ensure fair treatment for industrial and daily wage workers.

The holiday shows the Sindh government’s respect for the struggles and efforts of the working class and its commitment to supporting their rights.
