Petrol prices drop in Pakistan
The government has announced a reduction in petrol prices, providing much-needed relief to the public.
According to reports, a notification has been issued confirming a decrease in the price of petrol by Rs 2 per litre.
Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan have been reduced, offering some relief to the public struggling with rising fuel costs.
The new petrol price is now Rs252.63 per litre, slightly lower than before, while the price of high-speed diesel has also been cut by Rs2, bringing it down to Rs256.64 per litre. This move is expected to ease financial pressure on consumers.
Earlier, on April 16, 2025, the government had announced that fuel prices would remain unchanged for two weeks, with petrol priced at Rs254.63 per litre and high-speed diesel at Rs258.64 per litre.
At that time, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that instead of reducing fuel prices immediately, the government would use the benefits of lower global oil prices to fund development projects.
However, with the latest decision, the government has now reduced fuel prices, giving some hope to the public concerned about the high cost of living.
He said that the advantages of reduced petrol price in the global market would be extended to the masses through development projects.
