PTA cracks down on Indian propaganda network operating in Pakistan
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) actively regulates telecommunication systems, internet services, and online content across the country. In response to India’s ongoing propaganda war amid the current India-Pakistan conflict, PTA has taken decisive measures to counter and shut down harmful digital campaigns.
Indian news channels, YouTubers, and media sites began spreading false propaganda last night. They circulated illogical claims, including reports that Lahore had been conquered, Karachi Port destroyed, and Pakistan’s top officials arrested. Meanwhile, in reality, Pakistanis remained peacefully at home, unaffected by the fabricated stories.
The PTA released a statement today announcing that it has blocked 16 Indian YouTube news channels, 31 YouTube video links, and 32 media websites for spreading false news and anti-Pakistan propaganda. The authority took this action in response to the ongoing regional conflict. Earlier, India had also blocked several Pakistani YouTube channels.
Pakistanis are applauding this decision. One user said,” Ban everything.” One added, “We don’t watch any of their content already. Good ban it.” One added, “Also ban their celebrities here.” This is what people said:
