Pakistan has reaffirmed its dedication to a peaceful resolution of the Iran nuclear issue, highlighting the need for sustained diplomatic engagement and constructive dialogue to ensure regional stability and mutual understanding.

At the United Nations Security Council, Pakistani Permanent Representative Aasim Iftikhar expressed appreciation for the recent ceasefire between Iran and Israel, emphasizing that dialogue and diplomacy remain the primary avenues to resolve regional tensions.

Iftikhar reiterated Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote a peaceful resolution of the conflict, calling on all parties to exercise responsibility in maintaining peace and security in the region.

He highlighted concerns over recent Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, labeling them illegal and destabilizing. These actions, he noted, have further complicated negotiations between Iran and the United States, increasing risks to global stability.

Iftikhar praised the efforts of international actors who facilitated the ceasefire and expressed hope that this positive development will pave the way for lasting peace and regional stability.

In related intelligence updates, a preliminary U.S. assessment indicated that recent airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear program did not significantly hinder its capabilities, setting the program back only by a few months. The assessment attributed the limited impact to a fragile ceasefire brokered by former President Donald Trump, which has temporarily restrained hostilities between Iran and Israel.
