Security forces complete safe evacuation as Wana college rescue operation nears end.
WANA: Security forces have safely rescued all students and teachers from Cadet College Wana following the suicide attack, officials confirmed.
According to security sources, the rescue operation was carried out swiftly and with great care. Fresh footage shows security personnel bravely moving students to safe locations amid the tense situation.
Authorities said all students and teachers have been evacuated without any injuries. The ongoing security operation is being conducted with full caution to prevent further loss of life.
The Inspector General of Frontier Corps (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa South) is personally supervising the operation, which is now in its final stage.
Sources added that the operation will continue until the remaining militants are neutralized. All students and teachers remain calm and in high spirits despite the incident.
According to security sources, at the time of the attack on the Cadet College, around 650 people, including 525 cadets, were present. The operation was carried out with utmost caution and strategic planning to ensure the safety of the cadets’ lives.
Security sources further revealed that yesterday, Afghan militants rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate. The explosion caused the main gate to collapse and also damaged nearby buildings.
According to security officials, the militants who attacked Wana Cadet College were linked to Afghanistan and were receiving instructions over the phone from there.
