KARACHI: The Sindh government has imposed Section 144 across the province, banning public gatherings, rallies, processions, and protests for one month.

According to a Home Department notification, anyone found violating Section 144 will face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The order has been sent to all commissioners, DIGs, SSPs, and deputy commissioners for strict implementation.

Copies of the notification have also been forwarded to the Ministry of Interior, the Chief Secretary, the Principal Secretaries to the Chief Minister and Governor of Sindh, and the DG Rangers Sindh for necessary action.

The Home Department stated that the decision was made due to increasing political activities and protests in the province. Authorities said the step was necessary to maintain law and order and prevent any potential unrest.
