QUETTA: Reports indicate that, following Sindh’s lead, the Balochistan government has also extended the summer vacation period for schools and educational institutions across the province.
According to the updates, Balochistan’s schools will remain closed until August 14, with classes set to resume on August 15. This extension follows directives from Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti.
Originally, the provincial government had scheduled summer vacations from June 1 to August 13, 2024, as outlined in a notification issued on May 30.
The extension aims to address the extreme heat, with summer breaks initially announced from May 15 to July 31 for areas experiencing heatwaves. Schools in these regions will reopen on August 1, 2024. In contrast, cooler areas will observe a 10-day holiday from July 22 to July 31.
