Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that PTI’s victory in Gilgit-Baltistan GB Elections 2020 is an endorsement on the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In a recent statement, the Federal Minister said that the people of GB have expressed their firm belief in the policies and the leadership of the Premier who has prioritized underdeveloped areas.
He said that GB people rejected the negative and dirty politics of the Opposition parties.
He said the government will introduce the electoral system before the next general election.
The Minister said Pakistan’s valiant armed forces are fully capable to give a befitting response to Indian aggression.
GB Elections 2020 Unofficial Results
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf has emerged as the leading party after it bagged 9 out of the 24 GB Legislative Assembly seats in the elections held on Sunday.
According to unofficial results, the PPP is the runner up by securing three seats, while PML-N secured two seats, while the JUI-F and MWM secured one seat each.
Seven seats went to independent candidates who will play a vital role in the formation of the next Gilgit-Baltistan government.
PPP GB President Amjad Hussain Advocate managed to win from two constituencies — GBA-1 Gilgit-1 and GBA-4 Nagar-1. It is for the first time that any candidate has won two seats in the regional election.
Earlier PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari levelled a host of allegations regarding irregularities in Gilgit-Baltistan elections and said that his party will use all its legal options against the rigging in the polls.
