PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz opposition on Saturday heavily lambasted the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for a record level hike in the prices of petroleum products and called it a “petrol bomb”.

” The government’s focus is mainly on saving itself, and is not concerned about the problems being faced by the masses”, Maryam said while speaking to the media in Lahore.

Maryam said that the petrol price hike has a spiral effect and other essential commodities get expensive. People still have to make their ends meet in just Rs20,000 as not everyone lives in Banigala and has ‘ATMs’.

The PML-N leader said that the present government has plundered the people and now the poor are paying the price of their incompetence.

Her statement comes after the government on Saturday jacked up the price of petrol by Rs10.49 per litre effective from October 16.

She further added that the government has no strategy for the convenience and prosperity of the people, not PML-N nut government is preparing a long march against itself.

PML-N vice president while referring to the spike in dengue cases across the country said that the government showed their negligence as well as incompetency adding that this government is ignorant towards the problems being faced by the masses and does not care about the lives of people.

Earlier today, the opposition termed the fresh petrol price hike a failure of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The criticism comes as the government increased petroleum prices by Rs9 to 12.
