The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) said that there is a wave of Indian delta variants in the country, in which Karachi is most affected, the condition of 1210 patients in Karachi is critical.
According to details, a joint meeting of the NCOC was hosted by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. The meeting has been held at the Chief Minister’s House.
In which Federal Minister Asad Omar, CPEC Special Assistant to PM Khalid Mansoor and others participated while Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretary, IG Sindh, Health Secretary Dr Kazim, Dr Faisal, Prof. Saeed Qureshi and others also participated.
Briefing the meeting, it was informed that Pakistan has entered the sixth week of the fourth wave, now the fourth wave has started to subside.
It was said in the briefing that the rate of coronavirus is 13% in Sindh, cases are increasing slowly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, at present the rate of cases in Karachi is 21% while it has decreased by 3%.
It was informed in the meeting that 67% of cases in Karachi are coming from Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Hyderabad, 500 patients are entering the country daily.
The briefing said that most of the 1210 patients in Karachi are in critical condition and the fatality rate in Karachi has also increased. There is a wave of Indian delta variants in the country and Karachi is the worst affected city from it.
The Sindh government has installed 583 more oxygen beds from its own resources. Among the oxygen beds are 100 beds in JPMC, 75 in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, 100 in Eid Gah Maternity, 150 in Expo, 158 in Coved Hospitals while NDMA has provided 537 oxygen beds to the Sindh government and a total of 1120 oxygen beds.
Coronavirus Situation In the Country
In the last 24 hours, 95 patients of coronavirus have died across the country and the positivity rate has reached 8.24%.
According to the details, the National Command and Operations Center said that 95 patients died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from coronavirus to 23,797.
The NCOC says that 4,720 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases of COVID-19 in the country to 1,063,125.
The total number of patients recovering from the pandemic in the country is 959,491.
According to the NCOC, 57,233 tests for coronavirus have been conducted in the last 24 hours. So far, 1,63,93,404 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the country.
The NCOC said that in the last 24 hours, the positivity rate in the country has been 8.24%, while 4,275 cases of coronavirus in 631 hospitals across the country are in critical condition.
Vaccination Status
So far, 28,885,841 people in the country have been given one dose of the vaccine while 74,45,184 people have been given both doses of the vaccine.
