Fear and panic spread among the residents of North Nazimabad Block-R when under-treatment psychiatric patients ran away from a private hospital situated in the area and stormed the houses and vehicles of the locals.
According to details, about 40 patients carrying sticks in their hands attacked a guard of the hospital (namely Al Zohra Hospital) and subjected him to torture.
They entered the houses and rampaged the articles and damaged the vehicles parked outside the houses. Even a mentally-ill patient took away a land cruiser jeep of one resident.
The residents informed the police, which arrested some patients and recovered the land cruiser jeep. Later, the detained patients were shifted to the hopital.
The residents of the area have condemned the administration of the hospital for its carelessness, which might cause serious loss to lives and properties.
They demanded the authorities concerned to take a legal action against the administration and get the hospital shifted to some other place as it poses serious threat to the residents.
