ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has said in his condolence message on the death of Zia Mohyeddin that the demise is a personal loss for me.

President Arif Alvi prayed for the deceased and also paid tribute to his services in the field of arts.

In his message, he has also lauded the artist for his services in the field of arts, literature, performing arts, artistry and direction.

He further said that Mohyeddin was an excellent reader of prose and poetry and used to read in harmony with the music.

Pertinently, Zia Mohyeddin, a veteran actor, director, and television host, passed away on Monday in Karachi at the age of 91.

According to the sources, Zia was being treated at a private hospital in Karachi for fever and excruciating abdominal pain. Later, an ultrasound revealed that he was experiencing intestinal problems. The actor then had surgery and was taken to the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).

Today after the Zuhr prayer, the funeral will be held in Imam bargah Yasrab in Defense Phase 4.
