Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Sharif has said that the PTI and PML-Q leaders have assured the Supreme Court that they would accept the result of the CM slot’s election being held on July 22.

He said this while talking to media persons after the verdict of the SC regarding the election of the Punjab Chief Minister, on Friday.
Hamza said that he did not ask for three months to run the provincial government as Imran Khan Niazi had asked to govern the country.
He further said that he had told the SC he had the support of MPAs’ majority that was why he was appearing before this bench, adding that he was fully ready to contest the election of CM slot.
He further said that if he had not sufficient number of MPAs, he would go home.
He said that he had accepted the court’s decision and had no objection to the CM election after the by-elections in Punjab.

He claimed that his government had decreased the price of flour by giving a subsidy of Rs200bn, adding that in all govt hospitals, all medicines including for cancer were being provided free of cost to patients.
He maintained that an increase in petrol prices had not been made to save politics but save the country from going default, adding the PML-N always saved the country and state.
He said that media was banned in the past regime, and he assured the journalists of approving grant as he had promised to do so.
He also accused the PTI of maligning Chief of Army Staff General Javed Qamar Bajwa when he was on a visit to a Pakistan’s friendly country recently.

He lambasted Imran Khan as he had said that Pakistan’s atomic power and institutions would be in danger if he were not in power.
Meanwhile, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi welcomed the SC verdict and said that the judges of the apex court also appreciated political leaders for developing the consensus and amicably resolving the issue.
He said that this was the victory of the democracy and the country as it would go in the interests of the country.
Punjab had been in political turmoil for a long time, but now there would be stability in the province.
