ISLAMABAD: Following the decision announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced to approach Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the verdict in the Toshakhana disqualification case of Imran Khan.

Being aggrieved, PTI has announced to file a petition in the high court today and said that the petition is all ready to be filed as they were expecting the verdict.

While addressing the media after the verdict, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry termed it as an attack on the nation, institution and the law.

He was of the opinion that ECP has no jurisdiction over disqualification of a parliamentarian and urged the nation to step out for their own rights.

On the other hand, PTI Shahbaz Gill said that the decision was written by personal servant of PML-N’ Nawaz Sharif – an absconder – upon his wish.

“If it was as per law then why we weren’t allowed to enter the premises.”

Meanwhile, Asad Umar said that ECP is not an independent body, “It has proved that it is part of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).”

“We have already explained that ECP has no jurisdiction to hear the reference. They haven’t announced it on basis of law but of politics.”

While underscoring the ‘minus-one’ formula, he said that the dream of minus-Imran Khan will never come true.

Earlier today, the ECP announced PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan disqualified in the Toshakhana disqualification case.

A five member bench of the commission headed by CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja announced the verdict.

The commission also directed to proceed with the action against corrupt practices in the decision and his parliamentarian ship was also quashed.
