A 20-year-old Muslim girl identified as Gulnaz Khatoon was burnt alive in Rasoolpur village in Bihar after she rejected a Hindu boy’s marriage proposal.
The accused identified as Satish Rai had thrown kerosene over her body and put it on fire
In a video statement to the police, Gulnaz said,
“I was going to throw garbage around 6 pm when Satish Rai, son of Vinay Rai poured kerosene over me and set me ablaze with a match stick”.
According to the details, Satish was harassing her and pressurizing her for marriage. Gulnaz requested him to not pressurize her.
She had stated reasons for different religious backgrounds as Gulnaz was a Muslim and Rai belongs to the Hindu religion.
It has been more than two weeks since the incident took place, and the accused haven’t been found or punished.
People are demanding justice for the poor girl. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut also demanded justice for Gulnaz and said,
“Our daughters are not safe, everyday there are bigger and even more heinous crimes against them unfold.”
She went on to write,
“Dear liberals I have a request don’t look at victims or criminals through your secular lens. At least don’t divide them, Let’s fight against injustice together.”

This is what is happening in Bihar. The victim is a Muslim. Will there be any justice to a helpless girl whose dying statement gives out the name of the culprit? Or will be no justice to minorities in a BJP ruled state? The nation wants to know! #JusticeForGulnaz pic.twitter.com/sQ8ghih5Ou
