News of Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari’s engagement with Mahmood Chaudhry started to make rounds when it was announced last year. The invitation cards were extended to guests for the engagement ceremony on 27 November, Friday.

Just a few hours before the engagement, Bakhtawar Bhutto shared her feelings with the world on her Twitter account.

The bride-to-be is all set to tie the knot with him this month as the wedding festivities are in full bloom.

Before the commencement of traditional festivals, a pre-wedding ceremony, Mehfil-e-Milad was held at Bilawal House on Sunday.

The Mehndi ceremony of former president Asif Zardari and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s eldest daughter will take place today, 27th January. The event is expected to be a simple one due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A clip of Bakhtawar’s intricate mehndi design was shared by her and it looks beautiful.

Bakhtawar Bhutto’s nikkah will be held on 29th January and the wedding reception will take place on 30th January.

A Bilawal House spokesperson reported that approximately 300 guests are expected to show up at the wedding reception on the 30th January.

Soon after Bakhtawar walked down the aisle with her fiancé Mahmood Chaudhry, she took to her social media and shared a beautiful picture, captioning: #officiallyengaged.

Amidst the second wave of coronavirus, only close friends and family members were invited to attend the engagement ceremony which was held in November 2020. Guests were requested to bring their corona test reports before entering the venue.

PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto couldn’t attend her sister’s engagement ceremony as he is under self-isolation after testing COVID-19 positive.

Around 100-150 guests were present at Bakhtawar Bhutto’s engagement. Her father Asif Ali Zardari who was previously hospitalized also attended the ceremony.

Benazir Bhutto’s sister and Bakhtawar’s aunt, Sanam Bhutto, Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur, Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, PPP Senator Sherry Rehman, and Omni Group Chief Executive Anwar Majeed and his son, A.G. Majeed, were at the event, sources added.

Business tycoon Riaz Laljee, former adviser to the prime minister and chief of the Ziauddin Group of Hospitals, Dr Asim Hussain, and former law minister and Zardari’s legal counsel, Farooq H. Naek, were present at the engagement ceremony.

Foreign guests, who arrived from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), were also in present at the event.
