Lebanese-American media personality Mia Khalifa has been extended support to the Indian farmers as they continue to protest in Delhi against India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

For supporting the Indian farmers, Mia has received a lot of criticism and death threats, however, she stands strong and continues to raise her voice against the brutality of the Indian government against their own farmers.

Many international prominent figures including Rihanna, John Cusack, and Greta Thunberg have been supporting the Indian farmers, on the other hand, Bollywood celebrities are silent about the whole situation.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Mia said,

“Is Mrs. Jonas going to chime in at any point? I’m just curious. This is very much giving me Shakira during the Beirut devastation vibes. Silence.”

India, a country with a population of over one and a half billion, is engaged in agriculture. Nearly half of India’s population has 1.3 billion jobs and more than 150 million for the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has been in power since 2014 has become a bigger challenge.

Eleven rounds of talks between farm unions and the government also failed to break the deadlock, with the government offering to postpone the laws for 18 months but farmers say they can do nothing less than changing the law.
