To prevent “behind the scenes controversy,” Meghan Markle “retracted” her plans to visit Balmoral

Meghan Markle deliberated before deciding not to go see the Queen at Balmoral as she lay dying.

The Duchess of Sussex stayed in London rather than travelling with her husband Prince Harry to Scotland in order to avoid any potential problems.

“Tensions were so high and there was no way Meghan could have gone to Balmoral,” a palace insider tells The Post.

Earlier, BBC’s long-standing royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell added: “‘She might not be terribly warmly welcomed, to be perfectly candid about it.”

“Harry and Meghan do hate being separated from each other, so being alone in Scotland will have been very hard for Harry. No wonder why he left so early.” the royal insider continued.
