The Princess of Wales has released a new video of herself talking to schoolchildren about cuddles, birthday cake, teddies, and ice cream.

The sweet three-minute video shows Kate talking to four and five-year-olds about their growing-up experiences as she promotes her early years campaign Shaping Us.

Kate can be seen greeting a group of children, all clutching their teddies, at St John’s CE Primary School in Bethnal Green, London, in the endearing video.

The kids then show Kate, who is dressed in a green pussy bow blouse, their toys before she tells them she hasn’t brought their teddy bear, but rather a movie for them to watch.

The group then watches the new Shaping Us claymation clip, which depicts how interactions and her environment shape the development of a young girl from the age of zero to five.

Following the 90-second clip, Kate asks the kids who is special in their lives, and one little girl says her parents.

When Kate inquires as to why, she responds, “Because they help me when I swim,” before another boy adds that he can swim on his own and adorably demonstrates his technique.

The princess declares:”Sometimes it makes you feel a bit nervous, doesn’t it? But the feeling afterwards is brilliant, isn’t it? It makes you feel really proud of yourself.”

The video continues with a clip from the claymation in which the character blows out candles on a birthday cake.

Kate then asks the children how old they are – and one little boy proudly tells her what type of cake he had when he was five, “Spider-Man.”

They then return to the scene in the film where the little girl inadvertently drops an ice cream.

So Kate inquires: “Have any of you ever dropped an ice cream? I, too, have done so.”

“It was my favourite ice cream chocolate, but then there wasn’t any chocolate left,” one little girl says, to which Kate responds, “Oh no!”

The princess then asks, “Who has recently been kind to you?”

And one little girl sweetly says: “My mum. When I hurt myself she gets a plaster and puts it on.”

Kate says: “And she gives you lots of love? Who here gets lots of cuddles?” as the children nod.

One little girl then says: “I like my friend. When I cry, she gets a tissue and wipes my tears.”
