Morning show hosted by Maya Khan aired blasphemous content on Samaa TV, where she was seen conducting a raid in a public park questioning people about their marital status and if their parents were aware where they were.

This unethical way of reporting caused a lot of problems for her and the news channel. When asked about it she blamed rival media groups for the outcomes that they wanted no good for her and wished for her to be removed. Trust Samaa TV to play the victim card and do such obnoxious things on air.

A letter signed by the channel’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zafar Siddiqi was also shown by her to defend herself and her production team who were also fired after the act.

A FIR against the CEO himself was reported as his channel continued to air blasphemous content after which the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) took action against them and issued show cause notice to Samaa TV for going against the law and screening blasphemous content. The organization also has fined Samaa TV channel Rs. 1 million as only this TV channel aired such inappropriate content while others chose to follow the code of conduct.
