Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui discuss professional insecurities amid MPTH stardom

• They also shared a strong bond and friendship, despite Aijaz Aslam’s complaints about their roles.

Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui, two brilliant actors who consistently make headlines, are currently captivating fans as Iqbal Munna and Rehmati in the hit serial Gentleman. Recently, the two actors appeared on Fuchsia Magazine’s podcast, discussing their professional insecurities and the stardom of their blockbuster drama serial Mere Paas Tum Ho.

Talking about professional insecurities, Humayun Saeed said, “Adnan used to grab the good roles quietly”, he said it in a fun manner. Adnan Siddiqui replied to his allegations and added, “If there are three production houses, I will grab the character of my choice from the one that is not Humayun’s production but at Humayun’s production house I will be given what they have chosen for me, having said that, I would say we never felt any insecurity or professional jealousy. We never saw bitterness in our relationship. We never thought like that.”.

Humayun Saeed said “there was a competition healthily. He also revealed that Aijaz Aslam used to do complaints with Humayun Saeed innocently when Adnan Siddiqui used to get the same role that was also pitched to Aijaz Aslam.”

He also said, “But still Adnan Siddiqui and Aijaz Aslam shared a great bond and friendship and never indulged into ugly fights, also, there was so much of work that we never felt insecure like in Mehndi we had three characters in it, we all had equally powerful roles but I chose the one who died, I took a promise from Javed Saab to give me that role but apart from that nothing else happened. All we could do was to request to get the character of our choice, that’s it. Now, I want to do good character but after a gap of two-three years, now I don’t have any insecurity. Adnan Siddiqui also said that he never had difficulty in getting characters.”

Humayun Saeed further said that “he makes dramas for people and his characters represent Pakistani society like Mere Paas Tum Ho was a drama that showcased middle class and nothing can be bigger than Mere Paas Tum Ho in Pakistani drama industry. The ratings that Mere Paas Tum Ho brought, were phenomenal and it was unbelievable. The stardom of MPTH was real and nothing can beat that. He further said that Mehwish was not a negative character, any woman in a situation like this, has the right to move on. Had I been in her place, I would have moved on. He further said that Danish was not the right man because he wasn’t fulfilling his wife’s wishes. Humayun Saeed said that he felt sympathy with Danish, in the end. Adnan Siddiqui defended his character of Shehwar. He said that Shehwar was crystal clear, he told everything about him.”
