Pakistani film actor Babrik Shah, who stepped away from the industry following its decline, recently opened up about his experiences and decisions during an interview on the Podcast.
Known for being part of the last wave of hit films in Pakistan, Babrik has often spoken about reviving the film industry, although little progress has been made.
During the podcast, Babrik Shah discussed an opportunity he had to move to India in 2006. He revealed that while he was offered the chance to settle there, he ultimately refused.
Babrik candidly shared his reasons, stating that he couldn’t envision living in India due to the country’s conditions. He mentioned that the poor quality of food, unclean environments, and concerns over mob violence were key factors in his decision to stay in Pakistan. He emphasized that his stance wasn’t against Indians themselves but rather the living conditions he encountered.
Babrik also touched upon the topic of Pakistani stars working in India. He noted that artists like Mahira Khan have worked in India, often with the belief that collaborating with big Indian stars would elevate their careers.
However, he added that Indian filmmakers have typically only approached Pakistani artists when they lacked similar talent in their own industry.
