Muhammad Ahsan Shares Insights from Working with Humayun Saeed

Muhammad Ahsan is an emerging talent in the Pakistani television industry, known for his skills as a host, writer, director, and actor.

He began his career with Rava Entertainment, where he hosted interviews and produced documentaries and short films. Ahsan, a graduate of ZABIST with acting training from NAPA, recently gained widespread recognition for his role in the hit drama Gentleman.

In the series, he plays Zulmi, one of Iqbal Munna’s trusted associates, and his performance has quickly made him a fan favorite.

In a recent appearance on a YouTube show, Ahsan opened up about the challenges he faced in his career, particularly in securing his role in Gentleman. He also discussed his experience working alongside the renowned actor Humayun Saeed, highlighting Saeed’s charisma and the impact it had on him as a co-actor.

Talking about shooting his first scene with Humayun Saeed, Ahsan said, “I was ready on set and walking around, talking to myself about doing a scene with Humayun Saeed. I was convinced he wouldn’t come, and that someone else would play the character. But then Humayun Saeed and Ahmed Ali Butt walked in, and I instantly felt confused upon seeing Humayun Saeed. I was quite unsure and nervous about my upcoming scene with him because I had to act alongside him. Then, Humayun Saeed called me over and said, “Let’s do the scene!” I became so tense because of his charismatic personality that I poorly executed my lines. I failed multiple times until Humayun Saeed realized I needed guidance. He read the lines, and I wish we had the footage of that scene because his acting was incredible. Humayun Saeed portrayed Zulmi in a brilliant style. I wanted him to do it once more because he truly nailed it”

Ahsan shared that during a particular scene, Humayun Saeed advised him to convey a sense of happiness while narrating Iqbal Munna’s refusal to sit on the floor. Ahsan expressed his surprise at Saeed’s supportive attitude, noting how helpful and encouraging he was throughout the process.

Ahsan further added, “there was a scene with Ahmed Ali Butt in which we had to assure our loyalty with Iqbal Munna, it was my time to perform. I was quite active on the set and did that scene brilliantly. The next day, Humayun Saeed came and showed that scene to everyone that Zulmi (Ahsan) performed so well. He came to me and watched that scene with me and I wasn’t interested in the scene because I wanted to say Humayun Saeed, ‘I love you’, who showers this much love and appreciation to a newbie? it was unbelievable”.
