Rocky Johnson, the father of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has passed away today.
According to the details, Much like his son, Johnson was a professional wrestler who rose to fame in North America in the 1970s and 80s.
‘Soul Man’ was a pioneer of the sport becoming one-half of the WWE’s first-ever black tag team champions alongside Tony Atlas in December 1983 and was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008.
According to the details, Rocky Johnson, WWE Hall of Famer and father of Hollywood star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has passed away.
The WWE confirmed Wednesday that Johnson, known as the ‘Soul Man’ had died at age 75.
With partner Tony Atlas, he was part of the first black tag team to win the World Tag Team championship in the World Wrestling Federation.
He retired in 1991 and, along with Pat Patterson, trained son Dwayne to wrestle.
Dwayne would go on to become one of the most synonymous names in wrestling history, becoming a legend in WWE as The Rock.

Early in The Rock’s career, then known as Rocky Maivia, his father had an on-screen presence, jumping into the ring on his behalf after his son was attacked by The Sultan and The Iron Sheik at Wrestlemania 13.
