PSL 2020 postponed amid coronavirus outbreak

Fifth Edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) called off as the coronavirus pandemic starts taking a toll on Pakistan.

The news confirmed on PSL’s official Twitter page and added that matches will rescheduled for a later date.

Both semifinals set to take place today while the final scheduled for tomorrow.

Multan Sultans would have locked horns against Peshawar Zalmi in the first semifinal followed by second semifinal between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings.

The cancellation further increased a growing list of cricket fixtures postponed or called off in wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Last week, India’s ODI series against South Africa called off.

England also cancelled their two-match Test series in Sri Lanka before Australia called off their ODI and T20I series against New Zealand.

Bangladesh decided the same with their last leg of Pakistan tour while the Indian Premier League (IPL) suspended too till April 15.

Pakistan has witnessed a significant rise in coronavirus cases, as the toll shoot to 186, more likely to come up.

As per details, much of the cases are reported in Sindh, where Sukkur has witnessed 119 cases, with Karachi 25.

The total number of deadly coronavirus cases in Sindh Province shoots to 146, however recent cases reported also from other provinces as well.

Sindh Government Spokesperson Senator Murtaza Wahab confirmed the increase in coronavirus positive cases.
