Internet is being flooded with the rumors that former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has been selected as a head coach of Lahore Qalandars.
An unverified Twitter handle @fawadRana_LQ has posted on the microblogging web site. This handle is named on Lahore Qalandar’s owner.
The tweet reads,”Shoaib Akhrar set to be appointed Lahore Qalandars head coach.”

After the tweet, it is assumed that the role of Akhtar would be to primarily work with the young fast bowlers in the Qalandars’ squad, alongside another former Pakistan pacer and the franchise director and Head coach – Aaqib Javed.
BOL News contacted the team management and they refused the story and said there is no such development that has been made yet, and if something happens in the future, media will surely be informed.
Despite this, the social media account was not verified, but several local sports web sites published the story and people on the internet start retweeting and commenting on it.
It is pertinent to remember that earlier this week – Shoaib Akhtar has criticized Lahore Qalandar’s head coach Aqib Javed and out-of-form opener Fakhar Zaman for the franchise’s continued failures in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020.
The former fast bowler holds coach Javed responsible for the continuous failure of the franchise.
“Aaqib Javed is only good at taking trials and spotting talent. He doesn’t understand cricket. He just believes in senseless hitting in T20 cricket. In these past five years, Aaqib Javed has not been able to figure out that you can’t just rely on hitters. You need mature middle-order batsmen,” said Akhtar
