Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi he is willing to lead a Kashmir-based Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise in the future.
Boom Boom Afridi, while taking part in relief activities in selected areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, made the statement.
“I would request the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to name a team after Kashmir in the next edition of the PSL,” he said in a viral video on social media. “I want to lead that side before I end my career.”

Earlier, Shahid Afridi has purchased a cricket bat put up on auction by Bangladeshi cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim for $20,000. He had purchased the bat to contribute to the Covid-19 relief efforts.
Bangladeshi cricketer Mushfiqar announced the news on his Facebook. “Shahid Afridi bought the bat on behalf of his charity organization.
“I feel privileged and honored that someone like him has joined our great cause,”
On the other hand, Shahid Afridi appreciated Mushfiqur’s efforts and said that he was “doing wonderful work” for his people.
“Only real heroes undertake such efforts! We’re all experiencing tough times, in which we need each other. I’ll always remember the love I received from Bangladesh.
“Buying your cricket bat on behalf of the Pakistani people, I wish to become a part of your journey.
“We will rid the world of this disease very soon and we shall meet in the cricket ground,”
