The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has issued guidelines to its members to commence sports activities with safety precautions.

FIH posted the guidelines on its website and are lined up per WHO which has to be followed by management, players and coaching staff.

There are some guidelines for organizers of international events and it also include a risk management chart for all hockey federations to have implement on.

“With the progression of the virus at different stages across the globe, the guidelines should be used by Continental Federations, National Associations and clubs, alongside local laws and policies, providing their own bespoke guidelines for hockey providers within their area,” FIH said in a statement.

“Everyone involved in the sport must fully adhere to these guidelines in order to return to the field,” it added.

“Players and officials should avoid shaking hands. Sanitize your hands before entering the field. Don’t go near each other unnecessarily during the game. Avoid going to the field when you are unwell. The health and fitness of the players and officials is the top priority.”
