‘Its better not to compare me with Kohli’

Pakistan’s newly selected Skipper Babar Azam has cleared the air by suggesting not to compare himself with the Indian captain Virat Kohli.

A prolific batsman from Pakistan, Babar Azam has emerged as the new batting superstars in international cricket who is technically very sound and looks very similar to Indian Captain Virat Kohli.

However, interacting with the reporters via video conference, Pakistan‘s T20 and ODI captain said that it will be great if he is not compared to the likes of Virat Kohli. According to Babar Azam ,Kohli is a different kind of player. Babar Azam said that his job is just to score runs on the field and make his side win more games.

National team Skipper said “As a captain you have to be very patient, you have to keep your players with you when planning against the opposing team, there are times when you get very angry but then you have to control the anger on the field.

On May 13th Babar Azam appointed as the skipper of  One Day Internationals ODI team. Babar Azam will lead Pakistan in both the limited overs formats.

The announcement comes after Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] announced the central contract list on Wednesday. While Pakistan Cricket Board also confirmed Azhar Ali as Test captain. Naseem Shah became the youngest Test bowler in history to take a fifer and a hat-trick in consecutive Tests against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in Karachi and Rawalpindi, respectively. Iftikhar, who had the best average and strike rate in T20Is amongst the Pakistan batsmen, played two Tests, two ODIs and seven T20Is in the 2019-20 season. Naseem’s bowling partner Shaheen Shah Afridi, who took the most Test wickets for Pakistan in the 2019-20 season, is one of the four players to get promotions.
