West Indies Cricket Legend Michael Holding broke down in tears while while discussing the racism his parents faced in the past.

On the second day of the ongoing first Test between England and the West Indies, West Indian pacer Michael Holding while giving an interview, said “To be honest, that emotional part came when I started thinking of my parents. And it’s coming again now,”

The 66-year-old continued: “I know what my parents went through. “My mother’s family stopped talking to her because her husband was too dark.”

Former pacer Holding had said he had attended ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests and had referred to the case of Amy Cooper, who called police after arguing with a black man in New York’s Central Park.

He had also made an ardent plea for society to change.

The ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement has intensified across the world following the death of African-American George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police personnel in the United States (US) in May.  George Floyd being strangled on the street of Minnesota (northern regions of the United States) by a police officer while the man was saying in a low voice. “I can’t breathe, don’t kill me.”

According to reports, shortly after the incident, the man was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance where he died.

Four police officers were immediately suspended after the video surfaced.

Minnesota police say George Floyd was working as a security guard at a hotel when he was found drunk on another person’s car and resisted when police asked him to get off.
