Opening batsman Abid Ali was hit on the helmet during day three of the four-day intra-squad match at Ancora County Ground while fielding on the short leg.

An ambulance had to be called as the 32-year-old needed treatment instantly, according to sources. Fortunately, Abid had no major injury and was able to sit on a stretcher on his own.

The sources further revealed that Abid is feeling no pain and he is being looked after by a local medical panel. He may, however, need to go to the hospital later for more tests.

In the first innings, Abid managed to score just 10 runs while playing for PCB Green. Mohammad Rizwan caught him behind the bowling of pacer Sohail Khan.

It should be noted that the left-handed batsman Khushdil Shah suffered a fracture in his left thumb yesterday and was ruled out of the cricket for three weeks.
