Dozens arrested despite warnings to stay at home in England, as fans gathered in huge numbers outside Anfield stadium after Liverpool lifted premiere league trophy.

According to the media reports,  arrests were made as large numbers congregated outside the Kop end, where Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy after a 5-3 victory against Chelsea.

Before thet match, the security officials had urged people to celebrate from their homes due to ongoing concerns over the spread of coronavirus.

Merseyside police assistant chief constable Natalie Perischine said in statement that “It is still disappointing that people did not listen to requests from ourselves, because of the risks still posed by COVID-19,”

During the arrests, police officials suffered minor injuries, added Natalie Perischine.

Earlier English Club Liverpool lifted Premier League trophy, after beating Chelsea with 5-3, their first ever win in 30 years.

Jordan Henderson received the trophy from Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish on a special podium built on the Kop after Jurgen Klopp’s side made it three full unbeaten Premier League seasons at Anfield.

Kenny Dalglish, the last Liverpool manager to deliver the title, presented the medals wearing a red face mask before handing the trophy to captain Jordan Henderson who raised it to the night sky as fireworks and tickertape filled the air.

Jürgen Klopp’s side ended a 30-year wait for top-flight success in scintillating style, becoming the first team to claim this prestigious honour with more than five games to spare.

Sadly, because of the coronavirus pandemic that interrupted Liverpool’s charge to the title, the fans missed out a momentous night at stadium.
