Former Pakistan cricket team’s captain Shahid Afridi claimed during a recent interview that Indian cricketers would ask for forgiveness from Pakistani squad after the match.
Afridi said,
“We have always enjoyed playing against India. We have thrashed them so much that they used to ask for forgiveness from us after the match.”
The cricketer also revealed that he enjoyed playing against tough teams like India and Australia.
“I have enjoyed a lot playing against India and Australia, you have more pressure. They are good teams, big teams. Going and performing in their conditions is the big thing.”
He also named his innings against India at Chennai in 1999 as the most memorable one.
“My most memorable inning was the 141 against India, that too in India. I was not going on that trip; they were not taking me. Wasim Akram and the chief selector of that time supported me a lot. It was a very difficult tour and that inning was very important,”
The cricketer has recently tested negative for COVID-19.
