Fast bowler Mohammad Amir has joined the national squad in Derby after tested negative in both COVID-19 tests.
Amir left Lahore on 24 July for Derby. According to British government guidelines, Amir was in quartine for a five-day period during which he was twice examined.
As Amir’s newborn baby was due to be born, he decided to pull out of the England tour. Later, after Haris Rauf tested positive for coronavirus five times, Misbah-ul-Haq head coach-cum-chief selector and team demanded Amir’s inclusion in the T20Is squad.
It should be noted that, from August 5, Pakistan will play three-Test series matches against England. Green shirts will play three T20Is, respectively, on August 28, 30, and September 1.
