Pakistan Women Cricket Team Captain Bismah Maroof has urged the nation to celebrate Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm, however by staying at home.
According to the details, in her special message on account of Pakistan’s independence day to celebrate on August 14 (Friday) urged nation to stay at home in wake of the pandemic.
She said, “Celebrate but be careful. Take care of yourself and others while celebrating”
Bismah Maroof said that amid the coronavirus pandemic, we must be very careful while celebrating 14th August as the crowd in several areas can spread the virus.
“We are proud that we have achieved something for the country.”
Coronavirus in Pakistan
After 753 more people tested positive for the novel coronavirus during the past 24 hours across the country, the number of confirmed cases spiked to 286,674.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 10 people died due to coronavirus-related complications during this period, pushing the death toll from the disease in the country to 6,139
The number of active coronavirus cases has dropped to 16,475 as 264,060 patients have recuperated.
Of the total coronavirus-related fatalities, 2,297 occurred in Sindh,
2,179 in Punjab,
1,235 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,
138 in Balochistan,
173 in Islamabad,
58 in Gilgit Baltistan, and 59 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
