On Friday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that India will remain the host for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, although, in Australia, the postponed T20 World Cup 2020 has now been moved to 2022.

The format of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will remain as it was for 2020, according to the info, and all teams that qualified for that event will now compete in India by 2021. There will be a new selection process running for the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

It should be noted here that due to the emerging COVID-19 pandemic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 has been postponed.

On the other hand, because of the effect, the pandemic has had on cricket internationally, the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021 in New Zealand has been postponed until February – March 2022.

The postponed ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup format will remain the way it was for 2021. Five teams have qualified for the event already, and that will be 2022. The initial global qualifying event was expected to be held in Sri Lanka in July 2020 to decide the final three teams contesting the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, but this has been postponed due to COVID-19.
