Quaid-e-Azam Trophy First XI, Fifth Round matches started

Northern won the toss and elected to bat first against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the National Stadium Karachi and scored 371 for 5 in 87 overs at the end of the first day’s play.

Faizan Riaz batted brilliantly on the first day and he is not out for 124 runs. He has faced 162 balls so far and his innings includes 16 fours and a six. He is accompanied by another not out batsman Asif Ali who is batting on one run. Muhammad Nawaz also scored a century on the first day, he scored 121 off 146 balls with the help of 15 fours and 2 sixes. Nasir Nawaz stood out with 68 runs. For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sajid Khan bowled two wickets for 98 runs. Arshad Iqbal, Khalid Usman and Zohaib Khan took one wicket each.

The teams of Southern Punjab and Central Punjab are competing in UBL Sports Complex. Southern Punjab won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 272 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 2.88 overs at the end of the first day’s play.

Salman Ali Agha is 62 and Mohammad Imran is not out for three runs. Omar Siddique could not complete his century by 6 runs. He was dismissed for 94 by Waqas Maqsood. Zain Abbas stood out with 69 runs while Saif Badar scored 22 runs. Waqas Maqsood and Ahmed Safi took 2 wickets each for Central Punjab.
