Australia beat India by eight wickets in the first Test match in Adelaide. The hosts take a 1-0 lead in the series after India were bowled out for their lowest total in Tests.

Australia overhauled the target of 90 runs during the second session on the third day, reaching to 93 for 2 in 21 overs in their second innings.

Earlier, India had ended their second innings in their lowest ever Test total of 36/9 in the morning session.

Australian pacers Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood both hit Test wicket milestones in an incredible first session of day three in Adelaide that saw India dismissed for their lowest ever Test score. No batsman entered in the double-figure.

Josh Hazlewood has registered his eighth five-wicket haul in Test cricket, following the dismissal of Hanuma Vihari. Moreover, he got his 200th wicket in Test cricket after sending Ravichandran Ashwin back to the pavilion.

This is the lowest total in Test Cricket for India. Previously it was 42 against England in 1974.
