Babar Azam alleged rape case: Cricketer submits power of attorney

National cricketer Babar Azam, who has been accused of rape, submitted his lawyer’s power of attorney against the woman who had made serious allegations against the cricketer.

According to the details, on behalf of Babar Azam, Advocate Mubashir Sajjad has submitted the power of attorney. Meanwhile, the police were unable to submit a complete report in the court as the accuser did not show up in the police station when called.

The police have appealed to the court to bring both the parties face to face so that the court could provide time for a full report. The court granted the police plea and adjourned the hearing till December 14.

Earlier, a court in the provincial capital has asked for comments from the police regarding the case by December 4.

Hamzia Press Conference:

While addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club, the girl named Hamzia alleged the national team captain sexually and physically abused while in a relationship before entering into the cricket.

The girl said they both were school-fellows and also lived in the same vicinity.

She claimed that Babar Azam proposed to her in 2010 and she eloped with Babar for court marriage in 2011 because both her and Babar’s families did not agree to the proposal.

She kept on saying that they had lived then in different houses at Gulberg and Punjab Housing Society. However, Babar refused to marry her.

Hamiza said she got a job and supported Babar financially and gave away all the income she earned from her saloon to Babar Azam. She claimed that she has played a key role in making Babar Azam a cricketer by financing him.

She said Babar has been exploiting her for ten years by giving false promises of marriage.

Hamiza Mukhtar further said that in ten years Babar Azam took crores of rupees from her out of which not a single rupee has been returned yet.
