E-sports soon to get formal status says Fawad Chaudhry

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry announced that the Pakistan Sports Board and Pakistan Science Foundation have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to accord E-Sports a formal status.

On Wednesday, the Minister in a Twitter post, asked video game lovers to get ready for new opportunities that await them.

Bringing E-Sports to Pakistan is the milestone achieved by BOL TV host and Tech Influencer Waqar Zaka.

Waqar Zaka, the very smart person behind Pakistan’s first cryptocurrency, interviewed the Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry in this regard in December 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister praised the social media influencer Waqar Zaka for his efforts in bringing a revolution in the country through technology.

Fawad Chaudhry, while responding to Zaka, said that event will be organized in March. He said that through the E-sports National Tournament, the gaming industry of Pakistan will get a boost on the international level.

The minister added that ‘Gaming is a high earning industry. That has a 20 percent growth per annum. Chaudhry added that a separate link will be generated by the Science ministry where gamers can send their profiles.

During the discussion, Waqar Zaka said that those who are willing to prove their talent and earn an opportunity should come forward to promote the technical revolution in Pakistan on the global level.
