A hard-fought win by India against Australia in the fourth test takes the team to the second place in ICC Test Team Rankings.

Team India also grabbed the first position in the World Test Championship points table while Australia slipped to No.3.

Rishabh Pant unleashed a late batting assault to fire visitors to an incredible three-wicket win in the fourth Test over Australia in Brisbane.

India won on Day 5 and sealed the series 2-1.

India earned 30 points after the Gabba win and lead the World Test Championship point’s table pushing Australia to third position. New Zealand are the second-ranked team on the World Test Championship points table with 70 % PCT and 420 points.

Australian Captain Tim Paine said after the match, speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony; “We wanted to set a bit over 300, and dangle a carrot for them to win the series. I thought India turned up today, wore balls on the head arm and chest, put their body in the line, so credit to them, they deserve the win,”

Whereas on the other hand, India Skipper Ajinkya Rahane said that, “I don’t know how to describe this, but our boys showed a lot of character and determination after the Adelaide Test. I’m really proud of each individual.”

India squad for 4th Test: Ajinkya Rahane (Captain), Mayank Agarawal, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rohit Sharma (vice-captain) Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Shardul Thakur, Wriddhiman Saha, T Natarajan, Jasprti Bumrah (Ddoubtful), Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav.
