Kane Williamson, Pat Cummins at top spot in ICC Test Rankings

New Zealand Skipper Kane Williamson has retained the top spot with 919 points in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings for batting.

The Kiwis Skipper hit a match-winning century in the opening Test against Pakistan to help New Zealand win by 101 runs at Mount Maunganui.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson also joined an elite list of Kiwi players to complete 7000 test runs.

Kane Williamson also became the 13th fastest batsman to achieve the milestone during his marathon 238 against Pakistan in the 2nd Test in Christchurch.

This was Williamson’s second double hundred in just over a month after the 251 he scored against the West Indies in Hamilton on December 3 last year.

Australian Batsman Steve Smith takes second place in the rankings with 900 points. Australia and India are currently battling against each other in the test series (1-1). The third test match ended as draw between the two teams played at Sydney Cricket Ground. The last match to be played at the Gabba in Brisbane from January 15.

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli claims the third position in the batting rankings 870 points.

On the other hand, Australian pacer Pat Cummins grabs the top position in the rankings for bowling earning 908 points, followed by Stuart Broad of England scoring 845 points on table, and Neil Wagner of New Zealand.

Australia’s Josh Hazlewood moved upto three places earning at 805 points and made his place in the top 5.
