With the help of superb century of brilliant Fawad Alam, Pakistan has given the lead of 158 runs to South Africa in the first test at National Stadium, Karachi.

Pakistan ended their first innings on Day three of the test after losing all wickets at 378 runs. After losing 4 quick wickets, they were reeling at 33/4 at the end of Day 1.

But then, it was the revival job done by Azhar Ali and Fawad Alam and then the duo of Alam and Ashraf, during which Alam reached his century as well.

Towards the end, Yasir and Nauman also stitched a 55-run stand and it is due to their combined efforts, that Pakistan have ended their first innings with a lead of 158.

Rabada and Maharaj scalped 3 wickets each, whereas, Nortje and Ngidi collected two wickets each.
