Atletico Madrid’s Moussa Dembele tests positive for covid-19

Atletico Madrid’s new signed striker Moussa Dembele has tested positive for Covid-19, the club announced today.

Atletico Madrid officials said in a statement that,

“Moussa Dembele had a positive result for Covid-19 in the PCR test,”

“The striker remains isolated at his home, strictly complying with the recommendations of the health authorities and La Liga protocol,” the club added.

Dembele, 24, joined Atletico on loan in January from Lyon until the end of the season but the French player is yet to make an entry for Spain’s La Liga league.

Earlier, in English Premier League there were seven players tested positive for the Covid-19

The English Premier League introduced strict protocols last month to tackle the threat of pandemics forcing the suspension of the competition.
