Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice helping his team to register 2-1 win against Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia semifinals.
The Portuguese football icon has now scored 22 goals in 23 games this season for Juventus. He has now scored 25+ goals consecutively for 15 Seasons.
He was named the best European player of d decade (2011-20) by International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS). Moreover, he has scored more goals than anyone in d history of football; 763 goals.
The Italian champions were outplayed in a 2-0 defeat at San Siro on 17 January, but have won five consecutive games since including this comeback victory on Tuesday night.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who is turning 26 this Friday; struck twice following a Lautaro Martínez’s opener to help Juventus to put one foot in the final ahead of the second leg in Turin on 9 February.
Ronaldo was then rested by the coach Andrea Pirlo in the 77th minute of the match, for which the Juventus start was reportedly unhappy.
However, Juventus head coach defended his and that he felt the need to rest his team’s star. “It’s normal that when you go out in a match like this you want to play to help the team,” Pirlo said.
“There is no contract clause that says he can’t be subbed off. He knows he is a fundamental player for us but to get his breath back, he must always be at the top.
The head Coach added that, “He proved it with his performances after some criticism. He couldn’t have done better than that.
“I said [to him] that he had to rest, we have an important match on Saturday. He has played many consecutive games, every now and then a little rest is good for him.”
