India won the fourth test against England in three days by an innings and 25 runs and seal the four-match series by 3-1 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Indian team marked a tremendous comeback after defeat in the first test against England, India qualified for the World Test Championship and will play final against New Zealand.

Spinners did the job for the home side again as Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel took five wickets each to bowl England out for 135 in their second innings today.

It was another failure for Joe Root’s England, who suffered a drubbing after their two-day loss in the third Test of a series dominated by the spinning wickets.

Ashwin is right on top with 32 wickets followed by Axar with 27 and England’s spinner with 18 wickets.

England’s Root topped the batting chart with 368 runs including 218 in the opening Test — his 100th — which England won convincingly.

The two teams now head into five Twenty20 internationals starting March 12 at the same venue.
